Housing company Velsen requested Intures to further investigate the facades of a large number of residential complexes. In addition to carrying out an office study and visual inspection of the facades, destructive testing was carried out in accordance with the SBR protocol "Structural safety of existing masonry outer cavity blades" and the BRL 2109.
During the visual examination, cracking, bulging of the masonry, presence of dilatations, the quality of the joints and visible masonry supports are examined. The destructive examination focuses, among other things, on assessing the quality, type and number of wall ties. Determining the cavity structure and checking the adhesion strength of the mortar was done by means of a lever test.
