Intures recently made a scan of the main supporting structure for one of its customers in Rotterdam. A 3D model was created based on these 3D scans.

This structure, and its condition, is of importance because its failure would cause construction parts that are not in the immediate vicinity to collapse.

These scans were converted into a 3D model. Intures ended up scanning the main supporting structure more broadly than previously agreed. We decided for it to gain better insight into the project location during the upcoming inspection, so that we could deliver extra quality to our customer.

The inspection of the main supporting structure can only be carried out during a standstill. Due to the activities of this company, storage and transhipment of raw materials such as iron, ore and coal, downtimes do not occur often. During this downtime, several activities are carried out by different parties. Good cooperation is then necessary to prevent any further extension of the standstill.

All works went well and the 3D model of the main supporting structure has been delivered to the customer. Inspections will be carried out later, using the model as a basis to map all condition results.
