Commissioned by HVC Alkmaar, Intures conducted an emergency study into the operation of the heat exchanger of a combustion line.

HVC has 4 combustion lines which can be used separately or simultaneously. After burning household waste the smoke passes through a heat exchanger, before passing through the chimney. Because the flue gas still contains ash particles, this precipitates on the pipes. The ash precipitation insulates the pipe, resulting in a reduced functioning of the heat exchanger. A mechanical hammer regularly gives a blow to the header. The headers are close to eachother but not connected, causing them to collide due to this blow and making the axis fall off.
